The 2017 Vancouver International Jazz Festival gets underway later this week, bring more than 1800 artists to the city for this annual music extravaganza. As in past years, in addition to the headlining shows there will be around 150 free concerts in locations across the city, which means great music is within reach of everyone.
The festival runs from June 22 until July 2, and will be bringing a huge breadth of talent and musical styles to Vancouver.
Headliners this year include Seu Jorge, Thievery Corporation, Donny McCaslin Group and Ziggy Marley.
One of the highlights of the festival will be the Downtown Jazz Weekend, June24/25. The redesign of the north Georgia Plaza will provide improved sightlines, and deliver a more comfortable listening experience for everyone. In addition to the music here, the “music and arts village” will also be available, as well as a licensed bar. There will be three stages at this location to enjoy the music, – Georgia Stage, Robson Stage and the Sounds of Youth Stage. All the activities at these locations are free, come on down.
