The noon time crowd at CBC Vancouver was treated to performance by local supergroup The Long War today. The band formed in March 2016, with members of local bands Year of the Wolf, Desert Fox Cubs and Sea of Atlas. During this short period of time the band have gone from strength to strength. Earlier in the year the band beat out thousands of competitors to win the coveted 2017 CBC Searchlight. What makes this feat even more remarkable is the fact that they had only played four lives show together before taking home the title.

There is clearly a kind telepathy at work with the band members, as singer song writer Jarrett Lee and guitarist Chad Gilmour easily traded roles for various songs, their voices blending wonderfully. The band is actually hard to tag a label on, producing solid rock tracks, warm folk songs, and even a taste of country thrown in.
