Dave Wyndorf brought New Jersey’s finest to the Commodore Ballroom, Vancouver on Tuesday night.
Monster Magnet brought their unique brand of heavy rock to the Commodore Ballroom, Vancouver on Tuesday, headlining a four-band metal extravaganza.
Monster Magnet are a bit of a rarity. Founded by Dave Wyndorf in 1989 and going through a series of name changes before settling on Monster Magnet, their sound is a real blend of old and new. Their sound leans heavily on old school metal acts such as Black Sabbath and Blue Oyster Cult, overlaid with a grunge layer which is reminiscent of the likes of Soundgarden.
They have continued to go from strength to strength over the years, with their latest offering Mindfucker peaking at No 9 on the US Independent Albums chart, their highest ever placing. With a backlog of 10 albums to choose from band had plenty to choose from to please the crowd at the Commodore on Tuesday.
