Abandon Paris

. . a name conjuring up an intriguing host of images; a name created, not to blaspheme the mystique of the city of culture, love and history… not derived from such a global imagination at all, but rather from a personal struggle within. Its creation has clever, but secret origins which few outside the collective will ever know. The operating word in the name is “Abandon”, because this band at its core tends to abandon all typical stereotypes and conventions. There is no leader. There is no solitary songwriter.

Don’t be fooled by the democratic appearance however. Call it a hive mentality if you will. There is a queen; a tyrant governing the group, to whom the members of Abandon Paris have no problem bowing down. She is the song… and Abandon Paris is committed to serving her, never allowing their egos to disturb or upset a delicate balance of thought provoking lyrics and driving intensity; with two lead singers – both from very different musical backgrounds, searing guitar and anthemic production.

Abandon Paris is: Scott Jackson – vocals; Dagriff – vocals; Marc Gladstone – keyboards/vocals; Bryan Jasper – guitar; Chris Murray Driver – drums/percussion; Charlie Frie – bass

Head

HEAD is Lyric, Stone, oD, The Phantom and Styxx.
HEAD was borne of the twisted psyches of misfits and outcasts. Their collective histories hint at the slightly skewed nature of the music.
Coquettish vocals; electro-slash guitars; mood altering keyboards; intoxicating rhythms laced with dark lyrics.
HEAD is rock, a little industrial, heavy, but melodic. Highly-charged, controversial and edgy.

Vancouver band HEAD recently released their second concept album.

Dear Father”, HEAD’s 2nd concept album, continues the story of Alberta from their 2016 album, “Afraid to Sleep“.

“Dear Father” is the final chapter which unravels the sickness, and reveals the hold her abusive father had on her. Alberta, deeply infected by this damage, continues the cycle by bringing it into her own relationships, elevating her madness to a fever pitch…

The album was released a show at the Rickshaw in Vancouver at the end of April – check out some great photos from the show here.
