Rock royalty Uriah Heep were back in the lower mainland for the second time is as many years, putting on a storming performance opening for Judas Priest.

It has been a little over a year since Uriah Heep graced the stage at the Vogue Theatre in Vancouver, on what proved to be a phenomenal return to the lower mainland. It was especially memorable for front man Bernie Shaw, as he told us in our recent interview. The Victoria BC born native had a lot of friends and family in the audience, and the reception that the band got that night was incredible. Victoria BC’s own Bernie Shaw, lead singer of Heavy Rock legends Uriah Heep took some time out to discuss the current tour with Judas Priest, the latest album, and plans for 50th Anniversary of the band.

 

Judas Priest’ Firepower will be making a number of stops in BC, including Dawson Creek, Prince George, Kelowna and for those of us in the lower mainland Abbotsford will be the closest spot to catch the metal gods in action.

Joining them on the tour will be heavy rock legends Uriah Heep. Uriah Heep are heading full pelt into their 50th year,  and are showing no signs of slowing down.  The band released Living The Dream, their 25th studio album in the second half of 2018, and in addition to finding time to write and record they still managed to squeeze in close to 100 shows a year.

Now heading into their 49th year, Uriah Heep are still rocking venues across the world.  Alongside other stalwarts of the genre, such as Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple, the band were at the spearhead of the heavy metal/progressive rock movement, and are still cited as a key influence for many artists in the industry today.
